Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon release date and new trailer

Many people are eargerly anticipating the pending release of the third Transformers movie, Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The movie will have a release date of June 29 in some selected countries and a date of July 1, 2011 in the USA.

Cinema goers will be able to wacth the movie in a choice of formats including the regular 2D, Real D 3D and IMAX. The movie will have a Dolby surround 7.1 channel sound.

Almost all he previous cast members will return in their roles except one notable one. Megan Fox will not be in the third installment and her character Mikaela scratched from the movie. Megan Fox was initially confirmed to feature in the Dark of the Moon before later being dropped.

Also missing from the new Transformers will be the writers of the first two installments, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman.

In Transformers 3, the Autobots discover a Cybertronian Spaceship that has been hidden on the moon. The Autobots battle the Decepticons in a fight to be the first to reach the spaceship and learn its secrets. The information discovered could be a tide turner in the final battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons.

The action epic Thor, which stars Chris Hemsworth and directed by Kenneth Branagh, grossed $66 million on its opening weekend to knock “Fast Five” off the top of the U.S. Box Office chart. Thor is distributed by Paramount Pictures and is screened in 3-D. The $150 million budget movie’s weekend earnings were in line with expectations, falling just shot of the projected $70 million mark.

Fast Five was knocked down to second place by Thor. It grossed $32.5 million over the weekend to take its two weeks earnings to $140 million, which is very impressive.

In third place is the romantic flick, Jumping The Broom, with an opening weekend gross of $13.7 million.

Another romantic flick, Something Borrowed, came in fourth with an opening weekend gross of $13.15 million.

Rounding up the top five is the animation movie, Rio, with a weekend gross of $8.2 million. That takes its total box office earnings to $115 million.

Thor’s weekend takings might not be as impressive as the opening weekend gross of the first Iron Man ($102 million) but is still very solid. Thor has an overall B+ rating from CinemaScore and has over 60% of its business coming from 3-D screenings including IMAX 3D.

Simon Cowel and Paula Abdul will reunite as judges on a music tallent show. According to reports, Paula Abdul has closed a deal to become a judge on Simon Cowel’s upcoming X-Factor USA show.

Paula will join Cheryl Cole, Antonio Reid and Simon Cowel as judges on The X-Factor which will start showing on Fox in September.

Even as of Saturday afternoon, it was unclear whether negotiations between Paula and the producers of X-Factor USA will result in a deal being signed. But sources have told THR a deal has now been agreed which will see the two former American Idol judges reunite.

Taping of the judges rounds begin on Sunday and Paula and the deal comes just in time for Paula to start work.

According to reports, the deal might have been delayed because of a CBS deal that Paula signed to appear as a judge on the now ended competition show, Live to Dance. It is rumored that there were clauses in that deal that could have prevented Paula Abdul from becoming a a judge on the X-Factor show.

Simon Cowell has been insisting on having Paula Abdul join the judges panel on X-Factor in a series of interviews in the UK media. So there was really no dobut Paula was going to join Simon on the show. The Associated Press reported Saturday afternoon a deal had been agreed but it turned out there was still a couple of issues to be ironed out.

But now sources have confirmed those issues have been taken care of and the former American Idol judge will now be sitting on the judges panel of X-Factor America. Paula will now be available for Sunday’s taping.

The X-Factor will start showing on Fox in September and will be hosted by Steve Jones and Nicole Scherzinger.

Couple reveal name of twins

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have revealed the name of their recently born twins. The Mariah Carey twins were born over the weekend and singer took to her official website to reveal the names they will be called.

Like Nick Cannon promised earlier, the names are certainly unique for the reasons they were chosen, but not whacky. The names are Moroccan Scott Cannon for the boy and Monroe Cannon for the girl.

Moroccan was chosen as the name for the twin boy because the apartment Carey owns in New York has the top floor decorated in Moroccan style decor. It was also supposedly the place Nick Canno proposed to her.

The twin girl’s name is, as you might guess, inspired by the late Marilyn Monroe who happens to be one of Mariah Carey’s idols.

From the day she announced her pregnancy to the day the twins were born, it looks like anything to do with the pregnancy has been in the spotlight. Mariah affectionately referred to the unborn babies as “dembabies.” Earlier last month, Carey posed for two seperate magazines, baring her bulged belly. In the second photo, she posed nude with husband Nick for OK! Magazine.

Before that there was the incident where she fell whiles performing on stage. There was also the belly painting event. After her babies were born, Mariah went on twitter to thank her fans for all their support and well wishes for “dembabies.” She teased her fans about what the names of the twins will be, revealing that the first letters will both be “M.”

The couple also renewed their wedding vows a day after the babies were born.

The new born twins are yet to go home to their reported $30,000 cribs in their reported $100,000 – $1 million nursaries in either New York City or Bel-Air.

Sony PlayStation Network to resume operation this week

Sony Corporation yesterday revealed that it’s playStation Network (PSN) will be back this week. It also said the company will be giving compensation to its users for not being able to log on to the network.

The Sony PlayStation Network — which is a place for PlayStation gamers to play games with people from all over the world and download movies and games via the internet– was shut down on April 20. This was because the network had been compromised by hackers who stole personal and financial information of the 77 million plus users of the PlayStation Network.

Official from Sony did not make the security breach public until April 22.

On Sunday, Sony organized a rare Sunday news conference offering apology for the security breach. Officials said investigations into the incident was still ongoing.

Sony executive vice president, Kasuo Hirai, condemned the attack calling it “criminal and illegal.” He said the attack against the PSN not only negatively affected Sony but also the entire industry. He said the company takes the security of their consumer’s data very seriously.

Sony officials also announced they will resume online gameplay on the network this week. This will be for both PlayStation 3 and PSP users. The Network will also restore PlayStation Home, friend’s list and the ability to chat this week.

The company also revealed that users will be forced to change their passwords when they try to log on to the PlayStation Network once it is restored. Users will need the PlayStation 3 which they used to activate their accounts or the email with which they created the accounts to change their passwords.

The company also warned users not to give out personal information in emails claiming to be coming from the Sony.
The company also proposed compensation for users of the network. Officials announced Sony will offer free 30 days membership of PlayStation Plus to its PlayStation Network users. Those already subscribed to the Playstation Plus service will get an extra 30 days free membership.

The couple have surely sold the pictures of the twins to a well-known magazine as has been the case with many modern celebrities. You will surely be one of the first people to see the pics when they get published.

Update: The couple this week revealed the names of the twins. The girl will be called Monroe Cannon, inspired by Marilyn Monroe, and the twin boy will be called Moroccan Scott Canon which is apparently inspired by a third floor in Carey’s New York apartment.

Pirates of the Carribean star Keira Knightley looked very gorgeous whiles acting as a bridesmaid at her brothers wedding in Glassgow on Sunday.

The beautiful British actress wore a beautiful purple bridesmaid dress. The dress had a V-neck and ties up on the shoulder. She spotted a simple hairstyle and black shoes. What can I say but that she looked very ellegant in the dress.

Knightley was attending the wedding of her brother Caleb and his fiancée Kerry Nixon in Glassgow. She acted a bridesmaid for the bride. Keira is reported to have taken her boyfriend James Righton to the ceremony as her guest.

The wedding also celebrated Keira’s Scottish roots. Her mother is from Scotland and wore a red dress whiles the groomsmen all wore quilts. Emma had to quickly return to London after the wedding to star in a West End production, “The Children’s Hour,” which also stars Kate Moss.

The beautiful belle that played Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies, Emma Watson, has decided to drop out of Brown University and continue her studies at a new college.

She is not actually dropping out of college but merely tranfering to another one. Her representative denies allegations Watson is dropping out because of being bullied at the Rhode Island university. Last year the UK Daily Mail newspaper reported that a fake picture of Emma was being circullated among her college mates.

Emma Watson, 21, is said to be interested in enrolling in courses Brown University does not currently offer. According to her rep, Emma had several friends at Brown and fully enjoyed her stay at the university.

Emma recently took a break from studying to star in some movies and has not yet decided which college she will be enrolling in this fall.

I commend the beautiful wizzard for commiting to her studies and joggling a thriving acting career. Perhaps a certain Lindsay Lohan could take a look at her?

“Sabrina The Teenage Witch” star, Malissa Joan Hart, is celebrating her 35th birthday today. We just wanted to drop in and say happy birthday Melissa.

Melissa Hart is a star on an ABC Family sitcom titled, Melissa & Joey. And she must have reason to celebrate her birthday as ABC has extended the show for another 10 episodes. The show also stars Joey Lawrence

Melissa Joan Hart is well known for her role in ABC’s “Sabrina The Teenage Witch.” Whe has also starred in several projects and owns a candy shop called “Sweethearts” in California.

Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald

OK so pretty much everyone knows by now that Twilight star Nikki Reed and recently evicted American Idol contestant Paul McDonald are dating. What we didn’t know before was that Paul has never seen any of the Twilight movies starring Nikki Reed.

Paul thinks Nikki Reed is a “super cool girl,” He revealed this in a radio interview. He said he really thought Nikki was super cool but honestly knows nothing about her work.

In the interview Paul said he believes NIkki likes him more because he has never seen any of Reed’s work. The couple first met when they both attended the premiere of “Red Riding Hood.” And Paul said he did not even know who she was back then when Nikki introduced herself.

He said she just came up to him and told him he was great and he said to her, you are cool too. Nikki Reed plays Rosalie Hale, a vampire, in the Twilight movies. Rumors has it She has already finished shooting her scenes in the upcoming edition of the movie, Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

However it seems unlikely Paul McDonald is going to watch the Twilight movies just because of his girlfriend. He said it the interview that he was sorry but he is not going to watch any of the Twilight movie series.

Sorry Nikki Reed but it seems he is just not into vampires and warewolves.
